The Lodi based association has been led by Octagona in order to drive internationalization process of their member enterprises
Octagona, once again confirmed his leading role in business internationalization field. The company (which deals with internationalization for last 15 years, with offices in Italy, India, Vietnam and Brazil and a number of strategic partnerships around the world) has supported Assolodi, association that is configured as a dynamic reality of the Lodi Province able to group companies operating in a different range of sectors (food, chemicals, machine-building, transport, construction, etc.), in organizing a major Business Mission that took place in India on 15th and 17 th of March: aims of the mission, support the business growth of member companies to Assolodi and facilitate commercial and institutional relations between the same association, territorial organizations Lodi and Indian firms.
India today is the most attractive platform to export in the whole Asian landscape, considering not only the enormous growth potential but also the reforms that New Delhi Government is implementing to create an increasingly international business friendly environment.
It was therefore a very important and far-sighted task, a real example of what Italian companies should do, mainly for two reasons: made in Italy is passing through a very positive moment and hunger for our products in the world is growing; the national productive fabric is characterized by a myriad of small businesses not always able to go abroad alone, so carrying out activities of this kind, in aggregative way, is a very valuable option to facilitate the export process.
Octagona took care of the complete organization, preparation and management of the Business Mission: initially, performing a pre-screening step, meeting individually the associated enterprises interested to India and preparing an evaluation of the same (in order to understand the most suitable ones); then, taking care of the accompaniment of 5 member companies, selecting and contacting Indian companies potential partners and organizing meetings with them.
Specifically, during the first day a presentation meeting took place at the headquarters of Make in India (represented by Mr. Dushyant Thakor, Advisor), representative of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), representatives of the Delegation of Assolodi (including Mr. Carlo Gendarini, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lodi), local government officers, representatives of the Italian Embassy in Delhi (Mr. Luigi Estero, First Counselor), potentially interested Indian companies and select staff Octagona: it was an important opportunity in which the Italian delegation presented the opportunities offered by the Lodi area to potential investors; there was also an interesting analysis aimed at facilitating doing business and about legal, cultural and customs issues in India. The meeting ended with a networking session between the various participants, in which the representatives of the 5 companies of Assolodi delegation explored the business opportunities.
During the second and third day, Octagona supported companies in their meetings all over the Subcontinent (New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Noida, Ahmedabad and Chennai): in this regard, Octagona organized 43 meetings with Indian companies potentially interested and 14 visits to different shopping centers.
In recent times, India has been growing at high rates and Italian companies are looking with increasing interest at the Subcontinent, considering the recent difficulties experienced by China. Much can be done to increase made in Italy export to India.
